Farewell dear friends

My darling Aoise went to the Rainbow bridge today. She had been unwell for a few days, had lost weight and was listless. The vet did x-rays and an exploratory laparotomy and they found mesenteric lymphoma which was widespread. I agreed that the kindest thing to do was let her go, even though it breaks my heart. Thank you my darling for being my friend, companion and furry baby. I shall never forget you. Your broken hearted miewmie.

Yay...miewmie is home. Thank you to all my kitty friends who teleported over to keep me company. You guys certainly know how to enjoy yourselves ! A week I dreaded wasn't quite so bad after all. Even so, I refused to eat my whiskas and would only eat my 'biscuits'. I love having miewmie home. She keeps kissing me and giving me tweets. And of course, I'm back to eating my whiskas again. Nip snooze

This is me drifting into lala land. Can you see my nip cushion ? I like to fall asleep with this up against my face. One of my toy mouses is also having a nap. We are lying on a large paper bag. I like this bag and won't let miewmie move it. I feel secure lying on it even though I have lots of much more comfortable nap places.

This is me very patiently waiting for mouses to come out and play. They hide from me under the shed. Last night (while miewmie was asleep) I caughted one and brought it indoors. Unfortunately it became dedded and then I lost interest and abandoned it on the carpet. Never mind, there are plenty more where that came from ! Its a pity there isn't a picture of miewmie's face when she saw the mouse first thing this morning.

Sorry you haven't heard from me for a while. It's been very difficult to get miewmie to devote some time to my bloggy page because she has been so busy in the garden (my jungle). She has taken some plants away and put some new ones in. Then of course, I have to inspect the changes, make sure she has left me enough space for my 'personal needs' and generally give my seal of approval. She is going to a garden show next week so I expect she will come home with yet more 'babies' who will take up even more space in my jungle. There really is NO MORE ROOM miewmie !!

This is me deciding whether to stay in or go out. Miewmie has kindly left the conservatory door open to help me in the decision making process, during which time all the heat is escaping through the door. Many things have to be weighed up first, like; would I rather just go back to sleep on miewmie's bed? How full is my bladder ? Are there any strange smells I need to investigate? Are there likely to be mouses out playing? Miewmie doesn't understand that this process of deliberation cannot be rushed.

I'm feeling very smug in this photo cos I caughted a mousie last night. Miewmie heard a funny noise coming from the radiator last night but couldn't figure out what it was. This morning when she came down for breakfast, VOILA ! Mr Mousie was lying dedded on the carpet so now she knows what that noise was. All day she has been telling me what a good girl I am but she also hopes that there are no more mouses. Don't worry, miewmie, I'm on the case.

Miewmie took this when I was about 8 months old. We don't really know how old I am so this is a guestimate. Don't I look cute ? Notice how I have placed myself strategically on the sofa so no one else can sit on it. ha ha. This is an art that all cats learn very early and I was no exception. This is what my garden looks like at present. Its very very cold and everything is fwozen solid. Its the same all over the Yoo Kay apparently. I have hardly ventured owt (neither has miewmie) cos I don't like getting fwozen toesies. If it isn't waining then its snowing. Apparently its all coming from northern/eastern europe !! Can't go out

For days, weeks even, the weather here has been 'orrible. Nothing but rain, rain and more rain and wind as well. I am getting very bored and naughty indoors because I don't want to go out and get all wet. I only go when I really really have to and thats only because I refuse to use an indoor litter tway. Miewmie keeps telling me that she doesn't make it rain, so who does?

Chinese lessons

Miewmie is learning Mandarin Chinese and of course I have to help her and make sure she does her 'homework'. Sometimes she spends hours just practising writing chinese characters and I have to remind her to play with me. Sometimes, I even have to remind her that I haven't had my tea yet ! Autumn palette and puppy dog

Don't you think I look stunningly beautiful amoung all the autumn leaves? This ivy belongs to our neighbour across the road and I like sitting in it at this time of year as I look so picturesque.
Anyway, enough about me and my loveliness...for a moment or two anyway.

Miewmie met this puppy dog and his mummy when she was in Medjugorje earlier in the month. They lived in the pansion where miewmie was staying. Mummy dog loved to be cuddled and puppy dog just wanted to play. When miewmie was coming home, she left behind an old slipper so that he would have something to play with. Miewmie says they were adorable ! Well, I'm not too impressed with that statement as at the time I was here home all alone, all by myself. She even picked up a kitten which is quite a feat as most are semi-feral. She only slipped that one out when she thought Iwasn't listening. Hmmph. And I thought I was the love of her life !!!

Miewmie is back from her holiday ! Yay ! It has been a very long week for me and I refused to eat my whiskas food but miewmie says I don't look any slimmer ! Miewmie got a sun tan so she looks helfy even though she has a bad cold. She keeps sniffling all over the place so I am giving her warm healing cuddles to make her better. The good noos is that she has to save lots of pennies before she can go away again !!

Home Alone

I am here home all alone. Miewmie has gone and left me all by myself for a whole week. I miss her already. Our nice neighbour will come and feed me and talk to me so that will help, but I wish miewmie would come back. She is a long way away in some place called Bosnia Herzogovina. I am putting on my best 'cute' pose to make miewmie feel reely guilty at wanting to leave me and go away on holiday. How could she? What is so special about Bosnia-Herzegovina ? Today she did lots of dusting, cleaning and hoovering cos she likes to come home to a clean house. Well, it might not be quite so clean after my house twashing partee. She leaves next toosday and will be away a whole week !! I have a loverly garden and there are mices under the shed although it might be a bit cold for them now. There is plenty of nip and a cupboard full of tweets. Will you come over and keep me company?

Miewmie is up to something. She is putting things together on top of her chest of drawers. Last time she did this, she was going away to China. I don't think she is going that far this time but she is definately going somewhere. Oh how I hate my nice cosy routine being messed with. Who will feed me? Will I stay here? The v-e-t said on fryday (when I went for my woutine worming and flee tweetment) that I am " a bit too heavy". Reely? I am a slim 4.9kg. Worse than that, he said miewmie should give me 10% less fud. I will starve and fade away to nothing and will have no stwength. How much is 10% anyway? It sounds far too much to me. I am a mighty mouser and I need my stwength incase a mousie pops out to play. Sorry Mr v-e-t but no do.

I'm very dissapointed. I've been waiting for some mouses to come out and play but there have been none. Not one. Maybe its cos I was such a good mouser last year and there's none left. Awhh. Life is dull with no little furry critters to chase and play with. I spose I'll just have to relive those wonderful days last year when I caughted 4 mouses all in one day ! That was cat heaven.

Bamboo girl

In my last post I was napping on miewmie's wild strawberry patch. This time I'm napping in among the bamboo. This clump of bamboo lives at the bottom of my garden and is about 20 ft tall so I gets lots of privacy to nap, scratch, clean myself and generally do some deep philsophical thinking. Sometimes miewmie can't see me in here cos the bamboo is black and so is my fur coat ! ha ha.

This is me lying on miewmie's wild strawberry patch. It's in a part of the garden that gets the sun so I have created something of a nice nest for myself by squashing all the plants. I love to lie here where I get a good view of miewmie working in the garden. She weeds, deadheads and generally attempts to 'keep on top' of the garden. She is always busy so naturally I get very tired watching her and have to have long naps to recover.

This is me getting some serwious napping time in on MY sunlounger. Miewmie has covered it with a loverly fweecy blanket and rolled up the edge so I have something to lean against. You can see that on the left of this pichur. The sunlounger lives in the conservatory except for when miewmie gets a fit in her head to lie on it in the garden. Yes, she has the audacity to lie on MY sunlounger ! Fortunately, this distressing event doesn't happen too often.

This is my miewmie owt in the garden sitting under the rose arbour. Sometimes I make her move off the chair so that I can sit there and sun myself. There is an unwritten understanding between us that all chairs are mine and I can sit in them anytime I want to. Miewmie has also come to realise that her job is to maintain the garden for my delight and personal private use.

This is me in my very own jungle. Do you think I look like a fierce hunter? I am listening out for critters and watching for any unusual movement. This is what our big cat cousins do I think. My best catch to date has been several mouses all in one day when we had a famly of them living under the shed. That was SUCH fun. I am hoping that enough of them survived to start another famly so I can have more fun this year!

My catmint patch is on the right of this picture about harf way down. Its not easy to see cos miewmie has so many other planty things growing as well. It survived the winter and is now growing beautifully. Sometimes, miewmie picks some and then puts it on the path. I will then roll all over the path and get the wonderful aroma in my beautiful furs. Miewmie hoped that the catmint would deter me from eating the ornamental gwass...still only 3" tall.. ha ha. Now why is that I wonder ?? ummm. Dunno.

This is me pretending that I can read as I try and work out what it says on the side of the box. Apparently it says 'best before'. Best before what ? Does that make any sense to you? Anyway, it didn't detwact from the fun I had sniffing it, exploring it and jumping in it. I prefer weely stwong large paper bags though. Eventually, miewmie dismantled the box and put it out for re-cycling. How do you cycle a box? The hooman world is very perplexing at times don't you think?

This is the quarterly newsletter of Master Travel, the company that miewmie has twice travelled to China with, the last time was for a tour called 'Medicine in China' last October. My miewmie entered the foto competition and while she didn't win, her photo is on the fwont page. Its the baby all dressed up on the back of a bicycle. Miewmie took this one morning in a Beijing park. She thinks it was his/her birthday and his mummy had brought him to the park specially for some birthday photos ! Little does she know that her baby's foto (miewmie asked permission to take this) is now all over the world ! The winning entry, that of a Tibetan monk lighting yak butter candles was taken by a fellow tour member !

Here I am patroling my garden when I heard something. I think it was a birdie. Miewmie puts owt nice tweets for them but they don't come when they think I am here ! humph. I know it looks like I am nomming the cyclamen but really I was nomming some new grass shoots that are trying to grow alongside the cyclamen. Neighbourhood watch

This is me watching the world go by on my garden wall. From here I can see beans coming and going and more importantly, other cats who think its OK to wonder into my patch. Its not OK !! Miewmie always wants to have a 'debrief' when I come in and tell her everything thats been happening. Sometimes though I fall asleep on sentry duty, especially when its sunny. Looking after miewmie

My miewmie hasn't been too well recently, hence the lack of bloggy updates. She has inflammation on both lungs and is taking antibiotics so I have been very busy looking after her. Can you see my attentive expression in this foto? I make sure she gets lots of fizzio by having to get up and feed me, let me out the fwont door and so on. I also sometimes sit on her chest when she is in bed. I think that will help her lungs get better.

No, I'm not weely asleep, I'm just resting my eyes. Weely I am. Grretta kindly gave me the 'Kreativ blogger' award and I have to list 6 things that make me happy. Well, thats easy: mouses, dinner with lots of gwavy, snoozing on top of the wadiator (like in this foto), big big paper bags, having miewmie rub my tummy, waking miewmie up in the very early hours just to tell her I love her.
Dennis also makes me happy. He has sent me thwee posts and said nice things in them.

Awards and the London Fashion show

I am the proud recipient of 3, yes 3 awards. My good fwend Beethoven nominated me for the Friends award. Then Castle Diva gave me the Proximity award and finally, Hansel gave me the Honest scrap award. Apologies for the delay in posting this good noos but miewmie has been furry busy wot with one fing and anofer. Yesterday, she was at The London Fashion Show. Imagine that, my miewmie who knows nothing about fashion ! Anyway, she was part of a large gang who went to support 'Romeo Pires' make their debut cos they are family. She felt a bit old amoung all the beautiful young people !!!

Back to more impawtant stuff...my awards. The Honest scrap award says I have to post 10 honest fings about me. Well, as you can imagine, this has needed careful consideration. Anyway here goes:
1- When I stwetch out full length, I feel the need to follow this by immediately licking my posterior.
2- When miewmie shakes my paw, my wiskers go up and down.
3- When miewmie yawns, I yawn and vice versa.
4- I like to lick the gwavy off my dinner
5- I chase mouses
6- Sometimes I looses the mouses in the house.
7- I have a weely tiny sqeek of a miaow.
8- If its raining at the back door, I insist on checking the fwont door to see if its raining there too.
9- I scwatch the carpets. Miewmie gets furry cwoss when I do this.
10-I like to inspect all cupboards and wardrobes, every day if possible.

This is me on MY sunlounger in the conservatory. You can see I am lying on a fweece gillet which was once Miewmie's. Everything in my house was once Miewmie's but she has graciously conceeded that I am the rightful owner of whatever takes my fancy. I do lots of napping on this fweece and think deep pussycat thoughts, like, where do the stars go in the daytime? Where have all the flowers gone? Why are there no mouses to play with? This is me looking out of the window and reflecting on the wonderful 5 years I have spent with my miewmie. She came and gotted me on New Year's eve 2003. I was in a 'foster home' along with a woofie (I liked him) and lots of other orphan kitties. For the first couple of months I stayed indoors, until I had been 'done', had my vaccinations and the cat flap had been fitted. Life is great here with my miewmie. We live a very quiet existence together except for my mad moments when I race up and down the stairs for no purpose ! I know my first 6 months of life were not happy but I can hardly remember them now. It all seems a very long time ago. Thankyou miewmie for adopting me and thankyou Jeanine (from Second Chance Rescue) for finding such a lovely miewmie for me. If any of you beans out there are thinking of giving a kittie a home, please consider a wescue kitty. There are so many of us who need loving homes.

This is supposed to be a ship's cat. Huh, I'm not fooled for one minute. Miewmie bought him at the International Festival of the Sea held here in Portsmouth a few years ago. Miewmie says you can tell he is a ship's cat cos he is wearing a life jacket. Really. I don't think life on the high seas was very kind to him do you? Look at him, all srwuffy and bedwagled looking.

Toasted feeties

In the wintertime I love to squash my svelt body on the windowledge (you can see I have to compete with a fake bamboo plant and a foto of a fwend of miewmies...I never liked him) and lay my feeties over the radiator. It gets so hot that I have to keep swapping them over. Miewmie says I'm daft and that I'll end up with burnt puddies. Come on miewmie, I do have something between my furry ears !!!

These are my furry fwends who sleep next to my fleece bed on the landing at the top of the stairs. I haf my furry own ginger cat, a tiny tabby kitten and a mousey. They all get along quite well and keep me company when miewmie has to go owt. Miewmie is owt a lot this week cos its her birfday on saturday. She said she can't remember how old she will be. Because I look sooo good against this autumn folliage, miewmie took anofer foto. Well, a beautiful girlie can nefer have to many fotos in her portfolio. Never know when they might come in handy.

Life has been a bit boring cos miewmie hasn't been owt in the garden much acos of the weather. Its efer too cold, too wet or too somefing else. Anyway, very soon, she will haf to get owt there and cut the climbing/wambling roses back. Then I shall assume my snoopervising role.

As you can see, I haf been given this beautiful flutterby award by Black Cat which has really brought some summer cheer to these dull days. Thank you Black Cat. Autumn mellowness

Hi everybody. I've managed to organise miewmie into taking a photo of me surrounded by autumn folliage. Don't you think it looks really good in contrast to my beautiful furs. Miewmie is taking forever to readjust after coming back from China. She is still trying to write her trip itinery while its still fwesh in her head, as well as organise all her hundweds of fotos !!
In between all that she is pwacticing something called 'tie chee' and still learning mandarin chinese, including learning to write chinese characters. I think she's gone a bit cwazy. I just pretend not to understand her which I do all the time anyway.

Yeahh, Miewmie came and signed my welease papers from pwison today. She said the bail costs were furry expensif (£126) but I'm worth it !!! I haf spent all day checking effurything, just to make sure its as I left it. Miewmie hadn't unpacked cos after her 12 hour flight from Shanghai she said she was a bit tired, so when I arrived home, there were many many strange new smells in the suitcase to investigate. Admittedly, some were miewmie's clothes but the rest were furry exotic and fings I haf nefer smelled before. Miewmie bought me a pwesent all the way from China....some little packets of beef, which taste furry declicous but miewmie said I can only haf one per day in case they haf lots of salt in them.

Miewmie had a wonderful time and took nearly 800 picsures. Can you believe that ? She found a 6 week old tortie kitten in one place wondering into the road. He had some ribbon round his neck so had gotten loose from someplace. Miewmie took him to the gweengwocer shop, near where she found him. She hopes they looks after him.

Thank you all my fwends who sent me messages and teleported oveer to keep my company. It made my sentence pass that bit qwicker and I weely appweciate it. Miewmie is still a bit fatigued after her long journey but she just wanted to let you know we are both home again and all is well.

I am not talking to miewmie. I am sulking. On thursday, I will be stuffed into my PTU and whisked off to the cat hotel, aka pwison. It is furry impawtant that miewmie is left in no doubt about my serious displeasure at this pwospect. I will not be weleased until the 20th October which is a furry long time away. Please come ofer when I get back and we will celebwate my welease. Last time miewmie bought back some delicshous yak meat (cos she went to Tibet) so I can pwomise you some interwesting culinary delights. Medsin in China

Medsin in China. This is the name of my miewmie's tour to China. I don't know why she wants to go all that way to look at bits of trees, leafs and berries and fings. We got a stack of them in the garden, but miewmie says they is different in China.

This lady is a Tranditional Chinese Medicine doctor in a small town clinic. As well as lots of special herbs and suspicious looking fings, she also can pwescribe western medsin. She must be furry clever to do that. Miewmie will be visiting soms big hospitals in Shanghai and Beijing. Thats all very well, but meantime I shall be languishing in kitty prison. Ahhh, poor me.

My miewmie just said CAT HOTEL. You know what that means don't you. Its mean I'm headed for a spell of incarceration while she goes to that place called China. I am seriously not happy at this prospect...not at all. No mouses, no fwogs to chase. No gwass to eat, no doing my 'business' outside in my loverly garden. Worst of all, I won't be able to patwol my terry tory and invaders may come in. Just as disastwus is the fact that I won't get any special tweets to eat. No brwushing, no cuddles, no kisses etc etc. You get the idea. Wholesale deprivation for TWO hole weeks. I only haf anofer week of fweedom before this calamatous event takes place. You will all come and see me in prison won't you, and don't forget to conceal some nip when you come.

Yep, I got me anofer mousie !! We played for a while in the sun. I taught him how to do some sumersaults and fings. I fink he enjoyed our little game.

Alas, real mouses are so fragile compared to our toy mouses. One or two bats, a few sumersaults, and they ded themselves. If you look carefully you will see that there is no evidence that I efen touched him ! Not a mark, zilcho. He was furry cute though don't you think? Thanks for the fun mousie.

This is Pandy and he came all the way from China. My miewmie bought him for me when she went to see some real pandas in Chengdu. She even saw baby pandas in incubators but wasn't allowed to take fotos so I can't show you one. Panda is OK but he speaks chinese so I don't understand him. Miewmie is learning chinese but pandy isn't too impressed with her command of the language so far and pretends he doesn't know what she is saying. Miewmie is going to China AGAIN in a few weeks so Pandy and I will be all on our ownio. I wonder who she will bring back this time ?

This is me in my 'hut' as miewmie calls it. Miewmie bought it spechially to match the carpet and it sits on the landing at the top of the stairs. I think the word 'hut' fails to do justice to what is a sumptuous fleecy retweet. I spend lots of nap time in here cos its just so cozy and comfortable.
I am resting and building up strength incase the mouses come back. Mr Fwog is being very uncooperative and won't play. I might efen have to go back to playing with my toy mouses.

This is the fwog in my garden. I haf gone back to chasing him since there are no more mouses. He moves and jumps very quickly and so far, he outsmarts me. Mouses are much easier to catch. The mouses live under miewmie's very small garden shed. This is me waiting for one to come and say hello. So far 5 have come to say hello. Sadly, all but one have dedded. Yesterday, she had to move out the TV unit cos one that I bought indoors as a present escaped from me and sadly he too was dedded. Guess what? I caughted 2 mouses. Yes, not one but two, both in the early hours of this morning. I was so excited that I woked miewmie up specishally to tell her at 5am ! She couldn't figure out why I was so excited until she came down for brekfist. Then she found my 'trophies'. One was in the conservatory and I left the other one on the garden path. Miewmie says they were only babies and probly didnt haf a chance to run away. They looked pritty big to me ! I don't haf a foto cos miewmie 'disposed' of them weely qwickly. She also said she won't kiss my wiskers for a few days now cos I've been kissing mouses.

When I want miewmie to cuddle me and bury her head in my firs, I get this 'far-away' look in my eyes. I don't know who enjoys it more, me or her. I purr very quietly when I am happy. Miewmie was owt on the stweets of Portsmouth today to welcome home the FA cup and Harry and the teem. She was in a very big crowd of lots of peeple who were all hollerin, whistlin, waving flags and singing. She said the noise was unbelievable, so good job I was indoors having a quiet nap. According to the box fing at leest harf of Portsmouth was dere along wif my silly miewmie. She came home very escited and tired and is now asleep on the sofer. Miewmie spent the afternoon glued to the goggle box cos Pompey FC were playing Cardiff in the FA cup final at Wembley and we won ! Yeaah. "Play up Pompey, Pompey play up". Thats wot Miewmie was singing and wot harf of Portsmouth are singing right now. My afternoon nap on my sunlounger was disturbed cos Miewmie kept hollerin at the box thing. I'd just doze off and then she would yell and stuff, some of it was a bit wude so I can't wepeat it here although Miewmie nefer uses weely bad words. Anyway, she is furry happy now efen though she nefer watches footie ball normally. This is a speshul day she tells me cos Pompey haven't won the cup since 1939. This is me sunbathing. Don't I look a cool dude? Can you see that I have pink on my puddies ? Miewmie lufs my pink puddies. Sometimes when dey is very cleen (not dat often) she efen kisses them. This is my 'lookout' post at the bottum of the garden and I can see eferything that happens from up here. I can see if the neyberhood cats are out and about and wot they is all up to. Miewmie has to specally twim back the Ivy so I can sit and lie down wifout getting itched by the leefs.

This is MY sunlounger. See, it even has a nice fweecy blanket on it, just for me. I usually lie on the wight side like in this photo so the padding is getting a bit uneven.

Sometimes, I let Miewmie borrow it and lie on it in the garden but then I constantly moan and mieow and make such a fuss that she gives it back to me !!!
