Farewell dear friends

My darling Aoise went to the Rainbow bridge today. She had been unwell for a few days, had lost weight and was listless. The vet did x-rays and an exploratory laparotomy and they found mesenteric lymphoma which was widespread. I agreed that the kindest thing to do was let her go, even though it breaks my heart. Thank you my darling for being my friend, companion and furry baby. I shall never forget you. Your broken hearted miewmie.

Dear Aoise's Miewmie,

I stumbled across your blog earlier this year and it has been a little sunbeam in my life ever since. I lost my own cat (also a tuxie!) in exactly the same circumstances some years ago and I know very well how harrowing it is. At this awful time, I just wanted you to know how many people you and your Aoise have touched, probably without even knowing it. She will live in your heart always. x

We have come over to offer our sincere sympathy on the loss of you precious Aoise. Making the decision to help her across the bridge had to be no less than heart wrenching. But you gave her the ultimate gift of selfless love: freedom from pain and suffering. It is we who are left behind, who now suffer. Aoise is at rest.
We lost our cat brother the same time you lost Aoise. We'd like to think they crossed together.

Oh, we are so sorry about Aoise. What a beautiful girlcat! I cry every day for my Patches and hope I can someday come to terms with her death. I gave her the meds the vets prescribed, but it doesn't make her suffering any easier, it could have been avoided. Of course, without the meds she would have passed anyway. I keep hoping to see a glimpse of her so I know all is well. Thank you for stopping by.
